HIMSS18 & the MDISS Mission
MDISS is dedicated to building safer, stronger, more secure medical device environments. As health systems are increasingly connected, the need to ensure patient privacy and data safety has become paramount and a critical element of innovation in health IT.
By attending and supporting HIMSS18, MDISS will be able to continue to shed light on the importance of security in our connected healthcare world. Just as MDISS members are dedicated to establishing and maintaining data security in medical devices, HIMSS represents Health IT professionals that have patient care and safety as a core concern.
MDISS initiatives such as WHISTL™ and MDRAP™ can be important tools for Health IT professionals to explore and utilize in their patient-centered approaches.
The MDISS World Health Information Security Testing Lab facilities (WHISTL™) is a network of medical device security testing labs. MDISS members get preferred access to these labs, which are designed to help organizations assess and test the security of their medical devices in the contexts they will actually be deployed.
Like WHISTL™, the Medical Device Risk Assessment Platform (MDRAP™) has collaboration at its core. MDRAP™ is an advanced cyber risk assessment and data sharing platform designed just for healthcare information management professionals. MDRAP™ generates medical device security assessments that are clear, concise and actionable. Health IT professionals use MDRAP™ to make more educated choices for device procurement and security mitigation project management.
MDISS and HIMSS18 are natural partners. By attending HIMSS18, MDISS members will have access not only to leading edge educational sessions, but to network opportunities with other healthcare and health IT professionals who have similar goals and can share critical knowledge. Join us there!
